PLAYERXI

Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

This policy explains the technologies PlayerXI currently uses to operate the Platform, and is kept aligned with the actual technology in use — if that changes, this policy is updated accordingly. Read together with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how PlayerXI uses cookies, browser storage, local storage, session technologies, similar technologies, and other technologies that may store or access information on your device.

The purpose of this policy is to clearly explain what PlayerXI uses today and what PlayerXI does not currently use.

2. PlayerXI does not currently use cookies

At the time this policy was last updated, PlayerXI does not currently use cookies for its Platform authentication or ordinary operation. Instead, PlayerXI uses browser-based local storage for certain session information. This means that seeing this policy does not mean that PlayerXI is placing traditional cookies on your device.

3. Local storage and session tokens

When you sign in to PlayerXI, the Platform may store a session token in your browser's local storage. The purpose of this token is to allow PlayerXI to recognise your authenticated session and keep you signed in between visits where appropriate.

The session token:

  • Is used for authentication/session management
  • Is associated with your PlayerXI account session
  • Is not intended to contain your plain-text password
  • Is not an advertising identifier
  • Is not sold to third parties
  • Is not used to track you across unrelated websites
  • Is cleared when you log out or when the applicable session expires, subject to the technical behaviour of the browser and Platform

PlayerXI does not use local storage as a substitute name for cookies. They are different browser technologies, and PlayerXI describes them separately for transparency.

4. Why PlayerXI uses local storage

PlayerXI uses local storage and session technology primarily to provide essential Platform functionality. This may include:

  • Keeping you signed in
  • Maintaining your authenticated session
  • Remembering necessary session information
  • Protecting accounts
  • Supporting secure Platform operation
  • Preventing unauthorised use of an account

Without appropriate session technology, some core PlayerXI functionality may not operate correctly.

5. Security of session information

PlayerXI treats authentication information as security-sensitive. PlayerXI is designed so that passwords are not stored in browser local storage. PlayerXI may implement additional technical safeguards around session tokens, including:

  • Session expiration
  • Token invalidation when users log out
  • Server-side session validation
  • Access controls
  • Security monitoring
  • Protection against unauthorised session use
  • Other appropriate security measures

No online security system can guarantee absolute protection. Users should log out of PlayerXI when using a shared or public device.

6. What PlayerXI does not currently use

Advertising cookies — PlayerXI does not currently use cookies to serve personalised advertising.

Advertising identifiers — PlayerXI does not currently use advertising identifiers to build advertising profiles of Players.

Cross-site tracking — PlayerXI does not intentionally use cookies or similar technologies to track users across unrelated websites.

Third-party advertising trackers — PlayerXI does not currently use third-party advertising trackers for the Platform.

Google Analytics — PlayerXI does not currently use Google Analytics.

Social-media tracking pixels — PlayerXI does not currently use social-media tracking pixels for behavioural tracking.

Third-party behavioural profiling — PlayerXI does not currently use third-party technologies to build behavioural advertising profiles of Players.

7. Sponsors and tracking

PlayerXI may be funded by sponsors and commercial partners. Sponsorship does not automatically mean that sponsors receive permission to place tracking technologies on PlayerXI. PlayerXI will not intentionally allow a sponsor to use PlayerXI as a mechanism for cross-site tracking of Players without an appropriate legal basis, disclosure, and safeguards. If PlayerXI introduces sponsor-related technology that collects information from users' devices, this policy will be updated before that technology is deployed.

8. Analytics

PlayerXI does not currently use third-party analytics cookies such as Google Analytics. PlayerXI may, however, collect technical information directly through its Platform infrastructure for essential operational purposes such as security, error detection, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and Platform reliability.

Where analytics technologies are introduced in the future, PlayerXI will assess: what information is collected, whether the information identifies users, why the information is collected, whether a third party receives it, whether cookies or local storage are used, how long information is retained, whether consent is required, and what controls users have.

9. Future technologies

PlayerXI's technology may change as the Platform grows. PlayerXI may introduce technologies such as analytics, performance monitoring, preference storage, security tools, error-reporting tools, consent-management tools, communication technologies, sponsorship technologies, or other similar technologies.

If a new technology materially changes the way PlayerXI stores, accesses, or tracks information on a user's device, PlayerXI will update this policy to accurately explain the change. Where applicable, PlayerXI will provide appropriate notice and obtain any required consent before introducing technologies that require consent.

10. Children and tracking technologies

PlayerXI may be used by Minor Players. Because PlayerXI's Platform includes children's personal information, PlayerXI takes additional care when considering technologies that could track or profile children. PlayerXI does not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies to build behavioural profiles of Minor Players.

Before introducing new analytics, advertising, personalisation, or tracking technologies that could affect Minor Players, PlayerXI will assess the privacy, child-safety, and legal implications. Where required, appropriate parental/guardian controls and consent mechanisms will be implemented.

11. Device and browser information

Even without cookies, PlayerXI may receive certain technical information when your browser or device communicates with the Platform. Depending on the Platform configuration, this may include IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, request information, session information, error information, and security-related information.

This information is primarily used to operate and secure PlayerXI. This technical information is covered by the PlayerXI Privacy Policy.

12. Third-party services

PlayerXI may use third-party service providers for infrastructure such as hosting, authentication, storage, security, email, video processing, monitoring, database services, or other technical functionality.

A third-party service may technically use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, or other technologies as part of providing its service. PlayerXI will seek to understand the technologies used by relevant service providers and will update this policy where their technologies materially affect users' devices or personal information.

13. How to control local storage

Most modern browsers allow users to manage or delete locally stored information through browser settings. You may be able to view stored website data, delete local storage, clear browser data, block certain storage technologies, or configure other browser privacy controls.

However, deleting or blocking local storage may cause PlayerXI's login or other Platform functionality to stop working correctly.

14. Logging out

When you log out of PlayerXI, the Platform is designed to invalidate or clear the applicable session information. Users should also close the browser or clear website data when using PlayerXI on a shared or public device. Logging out does not necessarily delete your PlayerXI account or personal information. To request account deletion, follow the process described in the PlayerXI Privacy Policy.

15. Session expiration

PlayerXI may automatically expire sessions after a period of inactivity or according to security requirements. When a session expires, you may be required to sign in again. Session expiration is an important security measure designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access to an account.

16. No password storage in local storage

PlayerXI does not intentionally store your plain-text password in browser local storage. Authentication credentials are handled using appropriate authentication mechanisms. PlayerXI's Privacy Policy provides additional information about account security and password protection.

17. Do not store sensitive information in browser storage

PlayerXI is designed to avoid placing unnecessary sensitive personal information in browser local storage. Users should not attempt to manually store identity documents, passwords, banking information, guardian verification documents, private messages, authentication secrets, or other sensitive information in browser storage or through browser developer tools.

18. Changes to this policy

PlayerXI may update this policy when the Platform technology changes, new storage technologies are introduced, analytics are introduced, sponsorship technology changes, legal requirements change, or security practices are updated. The "Last updated" date will be changed whenever this policy is materially updated. Where required, PlayerXI will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing technologies that require it.

19. Our commitment

PlayerXI follows a simple principle when considering cookies and similar technologies: if PlayerXI does not need to track you, PlayerXI should not track you. The fact that a technology is available does not mean PlayerXI will automatically use it. PlayerXI will seek to use only technologies that are reasonably necessary for legitimate Platform purposes and will provide appropriate transparency when that changes.
