Terms of Service

PlayerXI is intended to provide a football talent-discovery and communication platform for players, parents and guardians, scouts, football clubs, academies, and other permitted football organisations.

These Terms apply to all users, including:

• Players
• Parents and legal guardians
• Scouts
• Football clubs
• Academies
• Organisation representatives
• Other authorised users

Where a user is a minor, additional requirements relating to parental or legal-guardian involvement apply.

PlayerXI is a football talent-discovery platform designed to help football players showcase their abilities and connect with scouts, clubs, academies, and other permitted football organisations.

Players may create profiles containing information such as:

• Name
• Age or date of birth
• Football position
• Playing history
• Club or academy information
• Match statistics
• Videos
• Photos
• Football achievements
• Other information permitted by PlayerXI

Scouts, clubs, and academies may use PlayerXI to discover players, review permitted profiles, communicate through the Platform, and send appropriate opportunities such as trial invitations.

PlayerXI does not guarantee that any player will:

• Be discovered
• Be contacted
• Receive a trial
• Be selected
• Be offered a contract
• Become a professional footballer
• Receive payment
• Join a particular club or academy

PlayerXI is a discovery and communication platform. It is not a guarantee of sporting, employment, contractual, or financial outcomes.

PlayerXI is intended to be free for players, parents/guardians, scouts, clubs, academies, and other permitted users. PlayerXI does not currently charge users for:

• Creating a player profile
• Creating an eligible scout account
• Creating an eligible club or academy account
• Discovering players
• Sending permitted contact requests
• Receiving contact requests
• Using PlayerXI messaging
• Accessing ordinary talent-discovery functionality

There is no subscription fee or pay-per-contact requirement unless PlayerXI introduces a new paid service in the future and clearly informs users of the applicable terms before charging them.

PlayerXI may be funded through sponsorships, partnerships, advertising, grants, commercial arrangements, or other lawful sources of revenue. A sponsor does not automatically receive access to private player information merely because it sponsors PlayerXI. Any use or disclosure of personal information is governed by the PlayerXI Privacy Policy and applicable law.

"Player" — Means a person who creates or maintains a football profile on PlayerXI.

"Minor Player" — Means a Player who is under 18 years of age, or otherwise falls within the definition of a child under applicable law.

"Parent/Guardian" — Means a parent or legally recognised guardian who has authority to act for a Minor Player.

"Scout" — Means an individual using PlayerXI for football scouting, recruitment, talent identification, or related professional purposes.

"Club" — Means a football club or authorised representative using PlayerXI.

"Academy" — Means a football academy, development programme, school football programme, or similar organisation using PlayerXI.

"Organisation" — Means a Club, Academy, scouting organisation, or other permitted football organisation.

"Content" — Means information, photographs, videos, statistics, messages, documents, profile information, or other material submitted, uploaded, transmitted, or displayed through PlayerXI.

"Verification" — Means the process PlayerXI uses to confirm specified information about a user or organisation.

"Trial" — Means a football trial, assessment, training opportunity, selection event, observation, or similar opportunity offered by an Organisation.

You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account. You must not:

• Create an account using another person's identity
• Impersonate another person
• Create a false organisation
• Misrepresent your professional position
• Provide knowingly false information
• Create multiple accounts for the same person for the purpose of avoiding restrictions
• Allow another person to operate your account in a misleading manner

Generally, each individual may maintain only one PlayerXI account unless PlayerXI expressly permits otherwise. A Parent/Guardian may create, assist with, and manage an account for a Minor Player for whom they have lawful authority.

PlayerXI may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify identity, age, guardian status, organisation affiliation, or account legitimacy.

PlayerXI is committed to protecting children who use the Platform.

Where a Player is a Minor Player, PlayerXI may require a Parent/Guardian to verify their relationship to the child before certain features are enabled. Depending on the feature and applicable law, these may include:

• Increasing profile visibility
• Receiving or responding to contact from Scouts or Organisations
• Accepting a Trial invitation
• Enabling certain forms of communication
• Publishing particular types of Content
• Other activities that PlayerXI determines require additional safeguards

Guardian verification is mandatory where required by PlayerXI or applicable law and cannot be bypassed.

PlayerXI may suspend or restrict a Minor Player's account if:

• Guardian information cannot be verified
• There is a dispute regarding guardianship
• There is evidence of impersonation or fraudulent consent
• The child's safety may be at risk
• Required consent is withdrawn
• PlayerXI is otherwise required to restrict the account by law

A Parent/Guardian may request deletion or restriction of a linked Minor Player account, subject to applicable legal requirements and legitimate retention obligations.

When a Minor Player reaches adulthood, PlayerXI may update the account's permissions and request the user to confirm or update their information and account preferences.

PlayerXI takes child safety seriously. Users must not use PlayerXI to:

• Groom a child
• Sexually exploit or abuse a child
• Harass or threaten a child
• Request inappropriate images or videos
• Request unnecessary personal information from a child
• Arrange unsafe meetings with a child
• Attempt to obtain a child's home address or exact location
• Pressure a child to communicate outside approved PlayerXI channels
• Request money from a child or their guardian in connection with supposed scouting opportunities
• Manipulate, deceive, intimidate, or coerce a child
• Engage in any conduct that could reasonably place a child at risk

PlayerXI may immediately restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts where there are credible child-safety concerns.

Where appropriate and permitted or required by law, PlayerXI may preserve relevant information and report serious matters to parents/guardians, law-enforcement agencies, child-protection authorities, or other appropriate authorities.

PlayerXI's Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy forms part of the broader rules governing use of the Platform.

Players may be able to control or select the visibility of certain parts of their profiles, subject to the Platform's available settings and additional safeguards for Minor Players. Depending on the account type and settings, information may be visible to:

• The Player
• Their Parent/Guardian
• Verified Scouts
• Verified Clubs
• Verified Academies
• Other permitted users
• The public, where the Player has expressly enabled public visibility and where such visibility is permitted

PlayerXI may limit or modify visibility where necessary for:

• Child safety
• Privacy
• Security
• Legal compliance
• Fraud prevention
• Moderation
• Protection of the Platform and its users

PlayerXI will not intentionally display a Minor Player's precise residential address or similarly sensitive location information as part of ordinary talent discovery. Users must not attempt to obtain, infer, collect, or share another user's private location information.

Players and, where applicable, their Parent/Guardian retain ownership of the Content they submit to PlayerXI, subject to the rights granted to PlayerXI under these Terms.

By uploading or submitting Content to PlayerXI, you grant PlayerXI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Host and store the Content
• Process the Content so that the Platform can operate
• Reproduce the Content as technically necessary
• Display the Content according to the applicable visibility settings
• Convert or optimise the Content for technical purposes
• Add PlayerXI branding or watermarks where appropriate
• Use the Content for the legitimate operation, security, moderation, and improvement of the Platform

PlayerXI will not obtain ownership of your Content merely because you upload it.

Unless you separately provide permission, the licence above does not automatically give PlayerXI unrestricted permission to use your Content in external advertising or promotional campaigns. Where PlayerXI wishes to feature a player's Content for promotional purposes outside ordinary operation of the Platform, PlayerXI may request additional permission where appropriate.

The licence generally ends when the relevant Content or account is deleted, except where retention is reasonably necessary for:

• Backups
• Security
• Fraud prevention
• Legal compliance
• Dispute resolution
• Investigations
• Moderation records
• Other legitimate purposes permitted by law

You must only upload or submit Content that you have the right to use and share. You must not upload Content that:

• Belongs to another person without permission
• Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
• Contains unlawful material
• Is fraudulent or deliberately misleading
• Contains malicious software
• Endangers a child
• Contains inappropriate sexual content involving a minor
• Violates these Terms
• Violates applicable law

You are responsible for ensuring that Content you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge. PlayerXI may remove Content that it reasonably believes violates these Terms, applicable law, or Platform safety requirements.

Players may provide football statistics such as:

• Goals
• Assists
• Appearances
• Minutes played
• Clean sheets
• Matches
• Competitions
• Other performance information

Unless PlayerXI expressly identifies statistics as independently verified, statistics submitted by players are considered self-reported. PlayerXI does not guarantee that self-reported statistics are accurate. PlayerXI may label statistics as "Self-reported" or otherwise identify them as unverified. PlayerXI may introduce verification systems in the future. Users must not knowingly submit fabricated statistics or achievements.

Scouts, Clubs, Academies, and other Organisations may be required to complete PlayerXI's verification process before accessing certain features. Verification may involve confirmation of information such as:

• Identity
• Organisation
• Professional role
• Organisation affiliation
• Contact information
• Publicly available organisational information
• Other information reasonably required by PlayerXI

The specific verification requirements may differ depending on the account type. A "Verified" account means only that the account has completed the verification process specified by PlayerXI at the relevant time. Verification does not mean that PlayerXI:

• Guarantees the user's character
• Guarantees the user's future behaviour
• Guarantees their competence
• Guarantees their financial position
• Guarantees that an Organisation will honour an offer
• Endorses the Organisation
• Guarantees a Trial
• Guarantees employment
• Accepts responsibility for every interaction between users

PlayerXI may revoke or suspend verification if information becomes inaccurate, verification expires, or there are legitimate safety, fraud, or compliance concerns.

PlayerXI may provide an in-app messaging system for communication between permitted users.

Where PlayerXI requires communication to occur through the Platform, users must not attempt to bypass the system to obtain another user's private contact information. Users must not pressure another user to provide:

• Personal phone numbers
• Personal email addresses
• Home addresses
• Exact locations
• Passwords
• Banking information
• One-time passwords
• Identity credentials
• Other sensitive personal information

For Minor Players, additional guardian-approval and communication restrictions may apply.

PlayerXI may apply reasonable limits to contact requests and messaging to prevent:

• Spam
• Harassment
• Mass unsolicited contact
• Abuse of the Platform
• Automated activity
• Attempts to circumvent safety controls

These limits are safety and fair-use controls and are not intended to create a paid advantage.

Scouts, Clubs, and Academies may use PlayerXI to communicate Trial opportunities where the applicable account and verification requirements have been satisfied.

A Trial invitation does not constitute a guarantee that:

• The Player will be selected
• The Player will receive a contract
• The Player will receive payment
• The Trial will lead to employment
• The Organisation will ultimately accept the Player
• The Trial will meet the Player's expectations

Unless PlayerXI expressly states otherwise, PlayerXI is not the organiser of the Trial. The Organisation offering the Trial is responsible for providing accurate information about matters within its control, including where applicable:

• Date
• Time
• Location
• Requirements
• Costs
• Accommodation
• Transportation
• Registration
• Equipment
• Medical requirements
• Insurance
• Any conditions attached to the Trial

For Minor Players, a Parent/Guardian must approve the Trial where required by PlayerXI or applicable law. Users must not use PlayerXI to arrange unsafe or inappropriate meetings with Minor Players.

PlayerXI does not require a Player to pay money simply to create a profile or be discovered.

Users must not falsely claim that a Player must pay money in order to:

• Be scouted
• Receive a Trial
• Be selected
• Have their profile promoted
• Receive a contract
• Obtain access to an Organisation

Users must not use PlayerXI to request or solicit prohibited payments, including fraudulent:

• Registration fees
• Scouting fees
• Trial fees
• "Guaranteed selection" payments
• Deposits
• Banking credentials
• Cryptocurrency transfers
• Gift cards
• Other deceptive payments

If an Organisation legitimately charges a fee for a separate service, it must not falsely represent that the payment guarantees football selection or a professional contract. PlayerXI may suspend or terminate accounts involved in suspected scams or fraudulent activity.

Scouts and Organisations using PlayerXI agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Represent their role honestly
• Use the Platform for legitimate football-related purposes
• Respect Player and Guardian decisions
• Follow applicable child-safeguarding requirements
• Avoid harassment and inappropriate communication
• Respect privacy
• Provide accurate Trial information
• Not impersonate another Organisation
• Not publish deliberately misleading opportunities
• Not request prohibited payments
• Not misuse PlayerXI information
• Not circumvent PlayerXI safety controls
• Comply with applicable laws and regulations

Organisations are responsible for their own activities, decisions, offers, Trials, contracts, employment relationships, and dealings with Players.

You must not use PlayerXI to:

1. Harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or abuse another person
2. Groom, exploit, or endanger a child
3. Request inappropriate photographs or videos from a Minor Player
4. Request money from a Player or Parent/Guardian through deception
5. Impersonate another person or Organisation
6. Create fake scouting opportunities
7. Misrepresent your professional role
8. Submit false statistics or achievements
9. Upload Content you do not have permission to use
10. Attempt to obtain another person's private information
11. Attempt to obtain a Minor Player's exact location
12. Circumvent PlayerXI's messaging or guardian controls
13. Spam users
14. Use bots or automated systems without permission
15. Scrape or harvest Platform information
16. Copy or build a competing database using PlayerXI information
17. Reverse engineer or interfere with the Platform
18. Introduce malware or other harmful code
19. Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts or systems
20. Sell, transfer, or misuse another person's account
21. Use PlayerXI for unlawful purposes
22. Engage in any other conduct that materially threatens the safety, privacy, integrity, or operation of PlayerXI or its users

PlayerXI contains information that may be protected by privacy, intellectual-property, database, contractual, or other rights. Unless expressly authorised by PlayerXI, users must not:

• Scrape PlayerXI
• Crawl the Platform
• Use bots to collect profiles
• Bulk-download player information
• Harvest contact information
• Copy the PlayerXI database
• Create external databases from PlayerXI information
• Systematically reproduce PlayerXI Content
• Use automated systems to circumvent Platform controls

This restriction does not prevent lawful use of information that a user is independently entitled to access or process.

PlayerXI may provide tools for users to report:

• Harassment
• Suspicious accounts
• Fake Organisations
• Fake Trials
• Scams
• Inappropriate messages
• Child-safety concerns
• Privacy violations
• Impersonation
• Copyright concerns
• Other violations of these Terms

Reports may be reviewed by PlayerXI or authorised service providers. PlayerXI may take action including:

• Warning a user
• Removing Content
• Restricting messaging
• Restricting profile visibility
• Suspending verification
• Suspending an account
• Terminating an account
• Reporting matters to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law

If someone is in immediate danger, users should contact the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement services rather than relying solely on PlayerXI's reporting system.

PlayerXI may use human review, automated systems, or a combination of both to detect:

• Spam
• Fraud
• Abuse
• Prohibited Content
• Suspicious activity
• Child-safety risks
• Account compromise
• Other violations

No moderation system is perfect. PlayerXI may take reasonable action based on available information where it believes that an account or Content presents a safety, legal, security, or Platform-integrity risk. Where appropriate, PlayerXI may provide users with information about significant enforcement actions affecting their accounts, subject to safety, legal, security, and investigative considerations.

You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your account. You must:

• Keep your login credentials confidential
• Not share your password
• Use appropriate account-security measures
• Notify PlayerXI if you believe your account has been compromised
• Not knowingly allow another person to misuse your account

You may be responsible for activity conducted through your account where you have failed to take reasonable security precautions. PlayerXI may temporarily restrict an account where it suspects unauthorised access or account compromise.

You may request deletion of your account at any time. A Parent/Guardian may request deletion of a linked Minor Player account, subject to applicable legal requirements.

PlayerXI may suspend or terminate an account where:

• These Terms are violated
• The account contains fraudulent information
• Identity or Organisation information cannot be verified
• There is a serious safety concern
• The Platform is being abused
• The account presents a security risk
• The user attempts to circumvent restrictions
• The user engages in prohibited conduct
• PlayerXI is required or permitted to do so by law

Serious child-safety, fraud, harassment, or security violations may result in immediate suspension. Termination does not automatically eliminate legal obligations that arose before termination.

Certain information may be retained after account termination where required or permitted by applicable law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes.

Except for Content submitted by users, PlayerXI and its licensors own or control the intellectual property associated with the Platform, including where applicable:

• The PlayerXI name
• PlayerXI logos
• Branding
• Software
• Website
• Applications
• User-interface design
• Graphics
• Platform features
• Written materials
• Database structure
• Platform systems
• Other proprietary materials

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from PlayerXI intellectual property without appropriate permission. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of PlayerXI intellectual property to a user.

PlayerXI may use third-party services to provide functionality such as:

• Hosting
• Authentication
• Storage
• Security
• Analytics
• Communications
• Verification
• Payments, where applicable
• Other technical services

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. PlayerXI is not responsible for independent third-party services that are outside PlayerXI's reasonable control. Where PlayerXI integrates a third-party service into the Platform, PlayerXI will seek to use such services in accordance with applicable law and the PlayerXI Privacy Policy.

PlayerXI may work with sponsors, commercial partners, football organisations, community organisations, technology providers, or other partners.

Sponsorship does not give a sponsor automatic ownership of PlayerXI, its users, or player profiles. Unless separately authorised and legally permitted, sponsors may not use PlayerXI user information for unrelated purposes merely because they sponsor the Platform.

PlayerXI may display sponsor branding, advertising, campaigns, competitions, or other sponsored material on the Platform. Any sponsored activity involving children will be subject to applicable safeguards and permissions.

Use of PlayerXI does not create an employment, partnership, joint-venture, agency, representation, or contractual relationship between PlayerXI and any Player, Scout, Club, Academy, or other user merely because they use the Platform. PlayerXI does not act as:

• The employer of Players
• The employer of Scouts
• A football club
• A football academy
• A football agent solely by operating the Platform
• A legal representative of Players
• A representative of Clubs or Scouts

Users are responsible for obtaining independent professional advice where they need legal, contractual, employment, immigration, tax, football-agent, or other specialist advice.

Players and Organisations may interact with one another through PlayerXI. PlayerXI is not responsible for every action, statement, offer, Trial, contract, payment, journey, meeting, or other interaction between users.

Users are responsible for exercising appropriate caution. In particular, Players and Parents/Guardians should independently evaluate opportunities before accepting them. PlayerXI's verification system is an additional safety measure and should not be treated as a guarantee that a person or Organisation will behave appropriately in every circumstance.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlayerXI provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. PlayerXI does not guarantee that:

• The Platform will always be available
• The Platform will be error-free
• Content will always be accurate
• Self-reported statistics will be accurate
• Every Scout or Organisation will behave appropriately
• Every Trial is legitimate
• A Player will be discovered
• A Player will receive a Trial
• A Player will receive a contract
• An Organisation will honour an offer
• A Player will become a professional footballer
• The Platform will produce any particular sporting or financial result

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlayerXI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of the Platform. This may include losses arising from:

• Missed opportunities
• Loss of expected income
• Interactions between users
• Third-party conduct
• Travel or accommodation arrangements
• Trials organised by third parties
• Contracts between users
• Unauthorised conduct by other users
• Temporary Platform interruptions

However, nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including applicable consumer-protection or child-safety laws. PlayerXI's final limitation-of-liability wording should be reviewed and approved by South African legal counsel before launch.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, a user may be responsible for losses, claims, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the user's:

• Material breach of these Terms
• Unlawful conduct
• Fraudulent activity
• Infringement of another person's rights
• Misuse of the Platform
• Deliberate or negligent misuse of PlayerXI systems

This section does not require a user to indemnify PlayerXI where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

PlayerXI processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law. The Privacy Policy explains matters including:

• What personal information PlayerXI collects
• Why it is collected
• How it is used
• Who may receive it
• How information is protected
• How long information may be retained
• User rights
• Children's information
• International transfers, where applicable
• Cookies and similar technologies
• How privacy-related complaints can be made

Users should read the Privacy Policy before using PlayerXI. Where a Minor Player is involved, the applicable child-information safeguards and guardian requirements will apply.

Users should keep their account information accurate and reasonably up to date. PlayerXI may ask users to update information where it is:

• Incomplete
• Outdated
• Inconsistent
• Required for verification
• Relevant to safety
• Required by law

PlayerXI may restrict features where essential information cannot be verified.

PlayerXI may modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue Platform features from time to time. This may include changes to:

• Profile features
• Messaging
• Verification
• Visibility controls
• Statistics
• Trial functionality
• Safety systems
• Contact limits
• Sponsorship features
• Other Platform functionality

PlayerXI will make reasonable efforts to maintain important services but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

PlayerXI may update these Terms as the Platform, law, or business model develops. The "Last updated" date at the beginning of these Terms will be changed when the Terms are updated.

Where changes are material, PlayerXI may provide additional notice through reasonable means, which may include:

• In-app notifications
• Email
• Account notices
• Website notices
• Requiring renewed acceptance of the Terms where appropriate

Where a change materially affects a Minor Player or their Parent/Guardian, PlayerXI may provide additional notice where appropriate. Where legally required, users will be given an opportunity to accept revised Terms before continued use of affected services.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that apply to a user under applicable law. Any dispute-resolution or jurisdiction provisions contained in the final version of these Terms should be reviewed by qualified South African legal counsel before launch.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary where legally permitted. The remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

If PlayerXI does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean PlayerXI has permanently waived its right to enforce that provision later.

These Terms, together with the PlayerXI Privacy Policy, Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy, Community/User Conduct Policy, and other policies expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement governing use of the Platform, subject to applicable law. Where a specific policy contains additional requirements for a particular feature, those requirements also apply to users of that feature.

Users may not transfer their PlayerXI account or their rights under these Terms to another person without PlayerXI's permission. PlayerXI may transfer or assign its rights and obligations where reasonably necessary as part of a restructuring, merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or other lawful business transaction, subject to applicable law and the protection of users' rights.

These addresses must be connected to monitored and appropriately managed inboxes before PlayerXI launches publicly.

For urgent threats to a person's immediate safety, users should contact the appropriate emergency or law-enforcement service.

By creating or using a PlayerXI account, you acknowledge that:

• You have read and understood these Terms
• You agree to comply with them
• You will provide accurate information
• You will respect other users
• You will follow PlayerXI's child-safety requirements
• You will not misuse PlayerXI for scams, harassment, exploitation, or unlawful activity
• You understand that PlayerXI provides a talent-discovery and communication platform and does not guarantee scouting, Trials, contracts, employment, or professional football opportunities

For Minor Players, the additional Parent/Guardian requirements described in these Terms and the PlayerXI Privacy Policy apply.

PlayerXI's goal is to create a safe, accessible, national football talent-discovery platform where players can be seen, legitimate football organisations can discover talent, and young players can pursue opportunities with appropriate safeguards.
